Fungal Taxa: Systematics & Evolution is a diamond open-access journal dedicated to the diversity, taxonomy, and evolutionary biology of fungi and fungus-like organisms. Established in 2025, the journal provides a trusted international platform for work that bridges classical and molecular systematics, highlighting fungi across terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems.


Our Mission

Fungal Taxa: Systematics & Evolution is an international, online, peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing fungal taxonomy and evolutionary studies. We focus on rigorous, well-documented research that illuminates fungal lineages and their relationships. Our scope includes species descriptions, taxonomic revisions, phylogenetics, nomenclature, monographs, and integrative approaches that combine morphology, genomics, and ecology. We publish original research articles, monographs, and revisions. Review articles are considered by invitation.
